The Baltimore Sun looks on the bright side

Sure, fewer people went to the Preakness this year, what with the decline in interest in horse racing and Pimlico’s banning of outside beverages, but at least smaller crowds mean less work for the cleanup crews!
Also, note that one of the clean-up guys is wearing a shirt advertising a bail bondsman. Baltimore is classy!
Sort of interesting online since at least 2004.

I used to know a guy who worked for the Baltimore Sun, years back. Lost touch with him. I’ve visited Baltimore a few times, but I know it is undeniably classy from watching John Waters’s films.

I actually drove by Pimlico a few weeks ago on my way to yell at the dolts at the Comcast building and thought that the race had already been run because everything looked trashed. Imagine my surprise to look at the paper at Eddie’s this weekend and realize it hadn’t happened yet.

Is there anything worth going to in Baltimore? It’s one of those cities that you know of – but never hear anything cool coming from there.

The local low budget horror comedy scene is pretty awesome.

Nate, John Waters is not cool? Man, he’s so cool he beats back global warming all by his lonesome!
And there’s Josh, too, but he’s found online.

Nate, Baltimore is one of the coolest places on the planet (though it’s somewhat seedy). Part of what I do on this blog will be showcasing cool Baltimore things!
